A summerhouse. Contemporary interior set within the icelandic landscape.
The open-plan living space brings together the kitchen, dining area, and lounge into one continuous environment. Large floor-to-ceiling windows frame the lake and mountains beyond, allowing natural light and the changing landscape to become an integral part of the interior experience.
Natural materials were chosen throughout the space to create warmth and longevity. Timber surfaces, stone flooring, woven textures, and soft neutral fabrics establish a tactile palette that feels both refined and relaxed. The exposed roof structure and high ceiling emphasize the architecture of the house while maintaining a sense of openness.
Furniture and objects were selected to balance comfort with simplicity. Sculptural lighting, natural fibers, and handcrafted details add character without overwhelming the space. The result is an interior that feels quiet, grounded, and closely connected to its surroundings. A place designed for slow living, conversation, and rest by the water.
